This workshop will guide participants in how to recognize and disrupt heteronormativity, homophobia, and transphobia in their own institutional contexts to improve educational/professional climates for LGBTQ+ individuals. Content will include concepts and terminology focusing on interactive group work. It seeks to inform and develop the skills of anyone interested in advocacy for LGBTQ+ students, educators, researchers, and industry professionals, and to provide an intersectional perspective complementing other efforts to develop STEM careers as spaces inclusive of all diverse identities.
